Great Expectations

I hate my tarot cards.  They’re always right.

There are various divination tools available to us when we desire a glimpse into our future.  It has become my own jaded opinion that we do not really need these tools to determine the nature of future events or circumstances in our life.  I believe that overall outcomes are ultimately defined by us.   No matter what the cards, the tea leaves, or the crystal ball may indicate, it is our dominant belief system that shapes the course of our future.  Sometimes we just need a ‘wake-up call’ to help us remember that we are entitled to reclaim our own creative power.

My beautiful tarot cards can merely suggest what is most likely to occur if I were to continue generating the current vibrational tone that I am offering at the present moment.  When I’m in a shitty mood, the cards will obviously reflect that.  The angrier I become, the more likely it becomes that the appropriate corresponding cards will turn up in my spread.  It’s as if there is not one damn positive card in the whole stupid deck.

That is when it dawns on me like a giant light bulb hovering over my head.

The energy of worry or stress over any current circumstance is so powerful that any attempt to give a reading on what COULD be is only as accurate as the source of my present expectations.  If I am steeped in frustration, the cards will surely confirm it.  This is no way to conduct a tarot reading for yourself.  Duh.

So what good are they?!  Thanks to my recent experience with the tarot cards, I realize that they can provide plenty of insight, indeed.

I have come to view my tarot cards as an effective instrument for timely and personal confirmation.  They can reveal the detailed properties of what I am emulating in my current vibration.  I consider them my “check” cards.

Depending on what particular spread is chosen, tarot cards can offer the querent with the specific aspects of one’s inner-self that have been receiving the most attention.  They can provide that “aha” moment.  The precise interpretations revealed in a tarot reading can offer an individual a definitive understanding of what is CURRENTLY flowing throughout one’s psyche.

As the lovely and insightful Dauphina would remind me, “Reflecting on your tarot spread can be quite the all-inclusive process.”

You got that right!

If you have a tarot deck (or two) of your own, I offer you a gentle reminder that the information these cards suggest is only as accurate as the energy of your current vibration. When you do not like the projected outcome in your spread, then you have the power to tweak your dominant intention toward a more favorable resolution.

If you do not yet have a tarot deck of your own, Llewellyn Publishing offers a wide variety of themes to suit your individual taste. The recent addition, Tarot of the Magical Forest, offers appeal for those of us drawn to the whimsical side of life. I just love the illustrations!
