How May I Direct Your Call?
Does the Universe employ some sort of switchboard operators?
Assuming that this position even exists, it would seem as if there are times in our life when we feel as if some of these cosmic employees do not perform their jobs very well. Out of the eight million Universal Sales Associates seated in front of the infinite motherboard full of incoming calls, why does it often seem as if our call may have been answered by the one operator who cannot speak our language?!
When things were not going the way that I would like, or something that I was expecting had not yet materialized, it always seemed easier just to blame someone else. Never mind that my ‘vibrational frequency’ is a Universal language understood throughout the ethereal realm since the dawning of Mankind. I convinced myself that I just got the one guy at the switchboard who could not properly decipher a valid request. He was way overdue for his coffee break, got distracted, and apparently put me on indefinite hold. My heart’s desire was circulating in some obscure back-order file that was more commonly known as the “forget” pile.
For most of us who are aware that the Law of Attraction is fully operational, placing an order with the Universe appears to be simple enough. We know that we receive that which we energetically vibrate. There are no exceptions. We understand that when we are not satisfied with our current experience, then we should stop vibrationally ‘ordering’ it. We are well aware of the procedure in which we must adjust our vibrational frequency to call forth the experience that we do want. Cancel the undesirable frequency, change our vibrational signal to match the experience that we would prefer, and voila!, the Universe automatically responds in kind. How in the hell can something so simple be so complicated?!
Perhaps admitting that we are complex individuals who respond to our earthly environment with equally complex emotions is a good place to start. Simplicity will remain elusive as long as we continue to insist that this Law of Attraction and ‘true magic’ stuff is intricate and deeply involving work.
Take a deep breath and clear your plate. When you are ready to place a call to the Universe, here are some simple tips that many of your friendly neighborhood witches have been using for centuries:
Speak your intention clearly. The Universal operator will not be able to properly channel your request if you have minced the words with mixed emotions. “I want a new car, but only if the payments are reasonable, and a used one would be okay if there weren’t too many miles on it, unless they were highway only, and no one else would need to borrow it on the days that I wanted to drive to the beach…” These thoughts are clearly sending out vibrations all over the place. Avoid using the word “want” (since that will bring more wanting) and be specific. “I would like to own a new car.” Period.
Believe in your request. Focus solely on the object of your desire. This is the time when you instruct Complex-Self to take a well-deserved nap. If Complex Self is invited to the party, you may begin to entertain thoughts of how your request will be filled, and a mixed signal will be introduced. If you would like to have a new job, but you cannot imagine how this could happen, or you begin to entertain preconceived ideas of how it could, then you have automatically sent your order to the circulating and never-ending “hold” file. Trust in yourself and presume nothing.
This is the stage where your meditation and quieting-of-the-mind practice comes in handy. When you are not proficient in your focusing skills, you may unintentionally inject a level of personal experience from past attempts at making prayer requests for yourself. Once you activate a vibration of past disappointment, the Universe will interpret this contrasting frequency as disbelief, and a red flag will automatically be attached to your Universal order. Ugh! You have been down this distracting road a million times. This time, catch yourself, turn around, and refocus on your faith in creative potential. When you are not 100% certain that you can have a new job, car, boyfriend, or even a new television, it is because you formulated your own complicated thought patterns and emotions around how these things could possibly manifest, or why these things have not manifested in the past. Stay on task or the Universal operator will not be able to properly expedite your request. Perhaps you could start with something small that you can believe in.
Lastly, relax and expect your order to be filled. (I know. A good witch knows that patience is a virtue, but she never thinks she needs it!) Perhaps you could compare this step in the process to a restaurant visit. After you place an order for your meal, do you follow the waiter to the kitchen, babysit your ticket, stand over the chef’s shoulder while he prepares your meal, and then follow the waiter back to your table after he picks it up from the kitchen? Or do you relax and enjoy your present company knowing that your meal will be served in a timely manner?
Loud and clear intentions, unconditional faith (Complex-Self needs to be snoozing), and calm expectations are the basic elements of the Universal language. If only a complex being could practice its simplicity as easily as it really is:)
